          Lake Malawi Safari'06'

This year we met the Sandra Lane (Jay Stauffer's boat) at Nkhata Bay, a five hour drive in the back of Stuart's 3 ton Lori. Once there the "Dane's" unloaded their gear and we loaded ours on the boat.Dutch Cowboy from El-Paso

We ordered dinner while doing the loading/unloading and before we left Nkhata Bay we got a chance to eat a good hardy meal. It was after dark by the time we left in the direction of Kande Island. It was about 2 am when I heard the anchor go overboard, but in the morning  (04:30)we found ourselves just shy of Kande Island and were at Mpondakucha Island which is only about 20 minutes from Kande Island. Without wasting time we got suited up and overboard for some investigation on what was there. The bottom was sandy as is the usual for this area of the Lake.Mpondakucha Island

starting out with a good meal,Martin just can't wait!

After we had a short dive here we went to Kande Island. Kande Island is a very small Island not much bigger than Mpondakucha Island. These Islands have different species around them, except for the sand dwelling fish found on their peripherals.
