                  Lake Malawi Safari '06'

We made additional dives, during the day in the eastern arm of the lake and returned to Chembe where we had camped out.

Otter Island is always a great spot to dive, I had Stuart's men just "drop me off" at the Island and I toured the bottom as I headed back to Otter Point. The dive lasted about 1 1/2 hours and I covered at least a 1/2 Km!

After the research was over at Chembe Village we headed back to Chiofu for a couple days. We then left there for Mbenji Island and dove at several reefs that had been marked on the GPS on previous trips, but had never been dove at.

Well it was time to finish up at Mbenji Island and head up to the top of the boat to catch the last few rays of the sun and catch up with the crew, about 4 hours worth!

It was late in the day when we returned to Kambiri Point to pack up things and take them to our rooms to squeeze them back into our luggage after drying.

Copadichromis borleyi "mbenji" are very curious!

After supper we sat and chatted over the trip and talked of next time we would be here again in Malawi!
