Lake Malawi Safari '05'
Cruising the outer limits of Mdoka Reef one can find B.Rhoadesii spawning. While Placidochromis phenochilus was attempting to pass me ,in the current, until I swooshed up the bottom. He came right over to see what tid-bits I stirred up but got his picture taken instead.

Live snails were found mostly off the reef while empty snails were found in and around the reef. The water current moves them off the reef which was fairly swift. No fish were observed picking up snails here.
Located far from the reef was Metriclima lanisticola. As I approached the female went inside the shell. The male went inside too but just could not fit inside completely.

Another fish found here is Labidochromis perspicax which was not camera shy. This reef is approximately 1 1/2 hours north of Chilumba so the name sake Zebra is well represented here!
