Lake Malawi Safari '05'

Well, here we are, the 2005 Participants leaving for Chilumba to meet Ad. (who is coming down from Lake Tanganyika to meet us there.)

Our road journey was about 11 hours to get there. Per Nilsson caught us taking a quick break of COLD refreshments before the Sandra Lane would carry us out to Chitende Island.

Our "Home Base" for the first 3 days would be here at Chitende Island. Leaving early in the morning we could get two dives in at well known locations. Our first dive was at Mdoka Reef.

Mdoka Reef is a bustling community of cichlids. Depth here is about 60 feet.  There was a strong current here but the water was very clear.
