Lake Malawi Safari '03'

The next  day we headed to Cobwe Mozambique, after a short stop there to pay for our entrance, we traveled a short distance south and anchored only a hundred yards from shore. Cynotilapia afra from this location is in my opinion one of the prettiest afra's. The afra from Mara Point is quite different even though its only a 40 minute boat ride away.

On the way back to our Rest House on Chizumulu we stopped at Same Bay. There were many fish here that I did not get a chance to photograph so I will have to return again!

Eventually we returned to the west side of the lake (Malawi) and proceeded to dive daily and then camp overnight in a northerly direction. We dove at a new reef called Chitimba Bay "deep". Here we found a new Tropheop sp. variant. The males and females, as well as young fry, were brilliant yellow. A relatively new Aulonocara was not to shy of having his picture taken.
