Lake Malawi Safari '03'
We dove at Liwelo Rocks, this is on the opposite side of Chizumulu Island ,from where we were staying. This is the home of the Blackmask hermani, named after Tom Herman of Guelph Ontario, Canada.
On our way to Likoma Island we stopped at Maingano Island and did a bit of snorkeling to cool down. It had been hotter than usual this year. Copadichromis chrysonotus swims near large boulders that are almost at the lakes surface. Depth here is around 35 feet.
We camped on Likoma Island for two nights. From here it was only a short trip to Chitupa Bay which was just north of the Mbamba Islands which we could see from camp.
