Lake Malawi Safari '02'

Our Lake Malawi Safari group was small this year, only consisting of six international guests. We all had a great time and it was a real bonus for the group on the trip when they found out Ad Konings would spend a day or two diving with us. Our first location was Chiofu Bay, a beautiful spot on the east coast.
Chiofu Bay is a beautiful spot as seen from a close by hillside. Stuart had the observation deck built, and several other buildings including indoor washroom facilities! Familiar scene in the lake. Two males sparring.
There are many species at this site. Shallow water starts at the shore line and slowly drop off to 20 feet. As you approach the middle of the bay there is a steep drop off to 100 feet plus!
