Lake Malawi Safari '99'
On
a few side trips we found a giant Baobab tree. This was good for a 1/2 hour
stop so we could get a few pics and investigate.
This tree was only 40-50 years old!
John got a good deal on a nice statue (firewood).

The watch story: about half way into our trip Glenn lost his watch. Well one night while Tom and I were back in our room at Kambiri, Tom found the watch in GLENN'S video camera case.
Glenn had been un relenting about how much Tom owed him for some Canadian Whiskey they had bought for Stuart. The daily compounding interest that was building by the minute. Tom just smiled and denied any knowledge of the debt.
NOW, Tom had Glenn's watch I told Tom not to JUST give it back, but find out HOW MUCH exactly it was worth and HOW MUCH he was willing to give up for it! Tom's eyes started to sparkle at the opportunity I had just pointed out.
We decided to pull this one off at breakfast the next morning. Tom had the watch , I had the camera.
The debt was paid and the picture is the proof!
